ABOUT THE GAME

Description: "World Alone: Dreampools" is a single-player "Backrooms" experience focused on dreamlike liminal pools. The game features a narrative told through cinematic sequences and immersive environments. Feel the true essence of solitude in "World Alone"...Story: You are a man named [REDACTED], age [REDACTED]. One day, in your bathroom, you discover a supernaturally perfect tunnel that leads to another bathroom, one that never existed there before. Curious, you decide to explore and record the place. But before you realize it, you're trapped. The tunnel is now blocked by debris and concrete, and the door in this mysterious bathroom is locked.Desperate and hopeless, you sit in the corner, unsure of what to do… until you hear the sound of a door opening. Could someone else be here? Terrified, yet curious, you decide to search for the door that opened, and whoever opened it.But there's no one. Only the bathroom door, now open. As you step outside, you're met with what looks like a complex of homes with pools. Your goal now is to find a way out of this place.Welcome to the "Dreampools"...Features and Concepts:Interactions with the environment, such as opening doors, interacting with buttons (switches, levers, etc.).VHS defines the game's visual style. Inspired by other Backrooms found footages, the visuals have a greenish tint, screen-wide noise, and blurred edges. These imperfections bring a sense of realism. The camera effects are based on both real VHS artifacts and more abstract effects.Dreampools is the main theme of the game, a vast pool complex that includes houses, bathrooms, megastructures, and more. Explore and record everything you find.
