ABOUT THE GAME
Terror on the Bayou is a 3rd person (1st-person in VR), exploration horror game where the player must navigate their canoe through a tangled swamp full of hazards and traps, stalked by a mysterious apex predator. Alone and afraid, the players will question if they are merely prey, or if the thing after them enjoys the torture of its victims. Whether they wish to rise to the challenge or row away in fear, they have no choice. They must take up the mantle of lighthouse-keeper and ensure the warning beacon continues to sway those away from the terrors they face.Gameplay features:Players navigate using movement controls that mimic the paddling of a real canoe! As your character gets used to it, so do you! But be careful- the water is anything but still, and mistakes can be deadly. Manage your health and stamina wisely.Make your way through a painterly, immersive landscape filled with unsettling occurrences, dangerous terrain that can be hard to navigate or slow you down, and the threat of becoming lost. Peer behind you to scan for threats, and use your compass to navigate to the lighthouse.Lore bottles are scattered throughout the 3 levels, which a particularly daring player may collect in their journal to uncover the stories of those that have lived here.Headphones are recommended for a more immersive soundscape, but not required.VR mode is available in the settings menu!Accessibility features:Audiovisual accessibility features include multiple contextual audio sliders, closed captions. No cue is delivered through sound or color alone.Cognitive and motor accessibility features include custom key-binds for keyboard and controller, adjustable controller rumble, adjustable monster difficulty, and a toggleable UI bar that tracks the monster's aggression.
